History of PJAK
The main founders of PJAK were Judie Kaberia, Rawlings Otieno, Luke Awich, Francis Gachuri, James Mbaka, Walter Menya, Caroline Wafula, Justus Wanga, Samuel Owino, Duncan Khaemba and Kennedy Mureithi among others.
After the first meeting, the pioneer members tasked Rawlings, Caroline and Menya to help draft the Constitution and in December 2015, the Registrar of Societies issued PJAK with a Registration Certificate.
The main objective of the formation of the PJAK is to empower journalists, who on a day-to-day basis write articles or broadcast scripts for all the media platforms in Kenya, through training and facilitation.
The membership of the PJAK spreads across mainstream Media organizations in Kenya and is open to both local and international journalists. Currently there are more than 70 members’ professional journalists working across the country.
